This page is an attempt to explain few things related to Anil Awachat blog and community.
I can’t read Marathi articles/Font Problem – what do I do?
MarathiBlogs.net has very good illustration on this so you can check it here – http://marathiblogs.net/font_problem
Who are you?
We are some of Anil Awachat’s fans interested in discussing his writing, hobbies and other activities. More than an author, we admire him for being a great human being and his humility. We also adore him for having courage of conviction to lead a different & thoughtful lifestyle. Read About page to know more about blog contributors.
Why this page is not in Marathi?
Please, don’t grumble about this page being in English – it’s much faster to type in English, besides it’s easy to explain technical stuff (Flickr.com upload etc.) in English – if you are willing to volunteer to translate it in Marathi – you’re welcome! Besides, we believe that we don’t have to write only in Marathi while talking about a Marathi author. On the contrary, I (Manish) am of the opinion that introducing good Marathi work in English would get non-Marathi people also interested in such works. Secondly, three are many Marathi people who do not read Marathi books much, this might also get them interested in reading Marathi books. And there are other trivial reasons for this. (such as typing in English is much faster for us, many people still cannot see Marathi properly on their PCs etc). So this blog will always have significant amount of English articles & pages. Obviously, there would be significant Marathi posts as well, but not only Marathi! 🙂 Of course, if you are interested in translating any of the English pages here in Marathi (including thispage itself), you’re most welcome!
Can I contribute to the blog?
Most certainly! Please leave a comment here on the blog or get in touch with Manish. If found appropriate, we’d certainly add your article here giving due credit to the original author. But to put Marathi article on blog, you must type and send it in Unicode format. You may also send article(s) in English as well. However, the co-authors of the blog are added only by invitation.
If I give you my handwritten article, will you type it in Marathi and upload it to the blog?
NO! That’ s the short and sweet answer to this question! 🙂 We all contribute to this blog voluntarily depending on free time available to us. Typing in Marathi still takes a long time for us and it would be best if you type your own words with your own hands! 😉
Same answer applies for articles written in other fonts, shree-lipi, pdf format etc. Please send your Marathi contributions only in Unicode format.
How do I type in Marathi?
How can I contribute to Anil Awachat’s Flickr.com group?
Hmm. Can’t get away here by just giving links 😉 So here is an attempt to explain this in details.
- To start with, you must have a Flickr.com account ad some relevant Anil Awachat photos there.
- You can visit Anil Awachat group on Flickr.com – http://flickr.com/groups/anil_awachat/ and join this group. This group is public and approval is needed. You will become member of the group immediately.
- Next job is to add a photo to this group.
You must have the photo to be added to the group available in your personal album on flickr.com. Select this photo and view it. Next, click on the link “SEND TO GROUP” on the top this photo (refer to the image). Your subscribed groups will be shown here. Select “Anil Awachat” group form the list of groups and click on it. That’s it you’re done! The photo gets added successfully to the Anil Awachat group.
- Repeat this procedure for other photos if needed. (Batch operation is possible, refer to flickr.com help for this)
- Sit back, visit http://flickr.com/groups/anil_awachat/ group and appreciate your work! 🙂
