अभिप्राय?????

(Cartoonist : Mahendra Bhavsar)

I think Baba is mostly introspective & reflective — and he draws a lot form his own experiences in life – his writing is mostly autobiographical – but not full of himself. And given the kind of activities & social work and amount of articles he has written on social issues – I think he beats most Marathi authors, and cartoonist; who are probably more selfish and full of themselves though their writing may not talk about themselves!!

  1. Anil Awachat’s write- ups on his own activities, his hobbies, and about his kith and kin were as captivating as was all his other writting. Underlying such writtings about himself was his empathy for other people involved in the happenings— some of whom actually gave him and his wife considerable pain on occassions. Such writtings would have looked pedestrian and therefore promptly forgettable had they been loaded with self praise, and/ or poor opinions of others. On the contrary, his writtings derive strength from his humility, the richness of experience and the ability he and his wife were endowed to pull through even hard times with no ill felings towards anyone. When he wrote about his hobbies, one is simply left wondering about the diverseness of his interests and his passion for things far and wide such as learning ICM or origami!

Evidently the ‘he’ character in this cartoon has no abilities to understand such nuances, much less appreciate them. To each, his/ her own…

  4. The cartoon is quite correct. When read a few of Avachat’s book, I liked him very much, but the more I read him and the more I saw him some things struck me

    1) He writes too much about himself and tries to glorify every small thing about him.

An article in last year’s diwali ank was too much. He wrote about his maid servents and boasted so much about helping them in a small manner.

    2) Another thing is is that without doing any great social work himself, he is living off the social work that was done by wife and is being carried out by others, his strength is talking and writing and he does just that.

    3) I wonder how after seeing so many problems in the society, he did not think and started working on solving at least one of them rather than just writing and earning through it

  5. I am amazed at the audacity of sunanda’s comment…And I am starting to doubt even the name of the person who made the above comments…so much coincidence..naah…

Anyways! The ‘so called sunandaa (SCS) ‘ has been successful in showing her extreme superfluous nature by not even bothering to check the facts before making this mischievious comment. However, I am also of the opinion, that this is a simple mischief by somebody, who is nowhere near to Sh. Anil Awchat, morally or even socially. Moderators of this blog should immediately delete this comment. Although, ‘SCS’ may argue that, she has the rights of expression and free-speech etc’, this goes absolutely against the intentions of this blog. This blog was created for people to understand, admire and get overwhelmed by Sh. Anil Awchat’s persona and his immense contrubutions for the society. This is not the site to create any sort of controversies or arguements, since 99.9% of us have already agreed about the greatness of the person called Anil Awchat. I am very sure that ‘baba’ himself would simply ignore these things, but atleast I can’t….
Lastly, we really don’t require anybody like SCS to give us any kind of new dimensions about Anil Awchat…

  6. Well, I have created this blog and few other authors/members have contributes here. I have already read the comments, and though I disagree with the comments – I don’t want to delete it! It is possible to refute this, but we’d just let this person hold his/her opinion.

  9. Anil Avachat is really great. I almost have finished all books written by him. I most liked “Swatahvishayi”. It was 12 yrs back when i delivered my son, i read this book. Inspired from him i tried to bringing up my son in a very normal way like him. Thanks to him. I don’t have big expectations from my son. Still at his age he is very friendly & most caring person to me & even his grand parents.

  13. Mr. Anil Awchat is a down to earth person. I had an opportunity to talk to him for few minutes in Tillak Smark Mandir during Origami exhibition. I requested him to give his autograph on the books he has written which are in my collection for last so many years. Without any hesitation and within fraction of seconds he has invited me to his residence for the same. Unfortunately I do not have his email address to convey my sincere thanks.

  15. Anil Avachat is simply great. I recently read his article on insects in Saptahik Sakal Diwali ank. and registered my complaint to him that it is very short and he has given very less information. I was very much excited while reading the article and it happend every time I read his articles.
What else I can say? He is the best!!!
